Deep and contemplative, this whisky cocktail speaks to the soul.
Ingredients
1.5 oz Buchanan’s 12-Year-Old DeLuxe Blended Scotch Whisky
0.5 oz Ancho Syrup
Splash Of Sparkling Water
3 Dashes Of Citrus Bitters
Pinch Of Smoked Sea Salt
Ancho Syrup
3 Dried Ancho Chiles
6 ozs Of Agave Syrup
6 ozs Of Hot Water In Saucepan
Preparation
In double old fashioned glass add Buchanan’s 12 yr old DeLuxe, Ancho Syrup, dashes of citrus bitters, and splash of sparkling water.
Stir to incorporate flavors.
Add large rock ice cube.
Finish off with a pinch of smoked sea salt on top of ice cube with a torn piece of dried ancho chile for garnish.
FOR ANCHO SYRUP
Mix ancho chiles, syrup and water in large bowl until fully dissolved.
Set aside in glass jar and store in fridge for up to one week.
